Eureka Bowl, formerly known as Plumas Eureka Ski Bowl, this historic ski area owned by the Plumas Ski Club is located in Plumas-Eureka State Park  above Johnsville. Local historians believe ore buckets were used by pioneer miners on Eureka Peak in the 1870's, which would make this the first ski lift in America.  With easy access and a large parking lot, it's a favorite area for sledders, back country and cross-country skiers. The site hosts the annual Historic Longboard races which are held on the third Sundays of January, February and March each year.
